It’s the 2016 Barbie® Convention!

After a smooth flight on Southwest Airlines from Chicago to Jacksonville, the first welcome to the 2016 Barbie convention was the sign in the JAX airport.

An enjoyable limo ride to the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront revealed the hotel already buzzing with conventioneers who arrived over the weekend. Making my way to the registration desk, I saw Barbie® vignettes set up (tastefully) on flat edges surrounding the restaurants and leading to the registration desk. And, each Hyatt representative at the desk had their own Barbie watching over them!

My hotel room is comfortable, leaving the high temperatures and humidity outside, thank you very much! I quickly unpacked and made my way to the convention registration, following by a delicious dinner and a Blue Moon at the hotel bar.

Having planned many a large event in my past, I experience these type of events with a higher expectation level. So far, they have delivered flawlessly. Organized, plenty of concise signage with very welcoming volunteers.

Below are some first photos from my adventure!

Today is the “official” opening day of the convention. Am about to go to a first-time attendees orientation (nice touch!) and will get a better idea of the whole event.
